Children with special powers is one thing but children with peculiar powers is something you'd see as a myth, but, in the spooky 20th Century Studios(now owned by Disney as of 2019) film we learn about accepting people completely as they are. The story of Miss. Peregrine's House for Peculiar Children follows a boy, Jacob Portman(played by Asa Butterfield) and his recent death of his grandfather. He finds old journals and information about this school with a headmistress named Alma Peregrine(played by Eva Green), who he heard stories about as a child and thought they were just that, stories. But after doing some digging on the house, he finds outs that the house was bombed back on September 3, 1940. But where did everyone go? This begins Portman's adventure.
The story follows his adventure through time travel, meeting old friends of his grandfather, and falling in love. This young man starts his journey as an fellow but unknown peculiar child along with the other twelve that we get to meet, and their headmaster, as they try to stop the evil Mr. Barron(played by Samuel L. Jackson). Who has been trying to kill and consume Miss. Peregrine's people, called Ymbryne. With that power they'll be able to be immortals and take over the world with their shapeshifting abilities. They almost get a away with it too if it wasn't for Portman and what he was able to learn from his grandfather as a child. With that knowledge he is ab le to save everyone and the headmaster.
Over the movie was all of the place, but entertaining. The cast had a few that I always enjoy watching, Asa Butterfield and Samuel L. Jackson. I would rate it a 6/10. Let me know what you think!
