Washington State Fair-Done Right!

Every year I look forward to one thing after the summer ends, of course, the first day of school for my littles, but also, the Washington State Fair in Puyallup! As a kid growing up, we'd go almost every year for the scones and rides. As a teenager, I went with friends and occasionally became the third or fifth wheel. It worked though since we all got along. But I always wanted to see what all the hype was about to do what we women call a "fair date." This year I had that chance, with my current boyfriend.

With his help and fashion skills, I let him pick our matching outfits this year(shoutout to Crocs and Adidas) as well as the game plan. I knew I only wanted to go on the 'Starship 2000' ride. It's my favorite, even though it gives me a major headache. We also hopped on, 'Vertigo', 'Skyride' which completely freaked me out with the outside noise, 'Matterhorn'(his new favorite), and 'Haunted Mansion'. We also mixed in some games as well for me to be able to bring home some stuffies to join my little tribe I have at home. I now have too many to count! But after the rides and games, the real fun began, the food!

I ate WAY too much than I thought I would! But also had some help with enhancing the hunger as well, adult style. My favorite out of everything I ate was from 'Kamaaina Grill ', the spam musubi and their famous and mysterious blue drink, with a secret family recipe. I'm not going to lie, made me want to join the team just to know the secrets! There were more favorites that day, scones, turkey leg tacos, and even elote in a cup. Which was also a first for me. Since my partner is Hispanic I'm used to it being served on a stick. I wasn't a huge fan of the cup only because I could mix everything together fully, but it was still good overall.

To top off the evening, this man surprised me with Kehlani tickets! Originally we were going to just be with the crowd outside but then we kept walking towards the stage and I was as confused as ever until he had security scan us in. I hadn't been to a concert in almost five years, and music helped me a lot. Mentally, emotionally, and sometimes physically but that's another story. All I have to say though, Kehlani DID WHAT NEEDED TO BE DONE! With a mixture of her older songs, newer songs, and features as well. I not only lost my voice but I got to belt out some of my favorite songs of all time to the love of my life. It also gave him a chance to learn more about me with my music taste and Kehlani with her different types of music styles wrapped into one person.

Overall this fair date was the best I have ever been on and I can't wait for the many more that'll come! Make sure you take your family or loved one before it's gone!
